OK so I totally missed the Grammys but I wanted to see Pink's performance. To quote her peers "She blew it out of the park." I can believe the no lip syncing too because I've seen concert footage of her up in the air like this before. Sharing youtube video and purchasing grammy performance and mp3 off iTunes... <3

Last call for today. Caller:: Danni from a towing company. Calls are not ringing in on her line 1 as they should. Turns out a Do Not Disturb feature was active and automatically sending calls to her 2nd line. I turned off the feature and she was very happy. I can go home now.

I got home Saturday afternoon after lunch and some shopping with Jerry. I finally decided to invest in an iron. My friend Tien says he knows how to iron shirts because my dad taught him how to do so back in 1994. For a moment, I thought I might have to call my dad and get a refresher training. I'm out of practice but I think I got the basics of it. Things worked really well once I started using the steam button. Of course, after that I start remembering the scene from Real Women Have Curves where America Ferrera burns a dress with an iron. No burns yet.

Getting back on track, though, I got home Saturday and I had told [info]motleyprose that I would give him a call. I took off my jacket and started looking for my cordless phone. It wasn't on the base and it doesn't have a button where it can be paged like my old set did. Normally, I'm using my home phone to call my cell and locate it. This was the first time I was doing the reverse, using my cell to call and locate my home phone. It kept sounding very near but I could never place it. So at one point I'm diving into a clothes bin, thinking it dropped somewhere into the depths of my clothes. While hunched over the bin, I hear beeping coming from my right hand pocket.

At some point, I had picked up my cordless phone, probably remembered that I need to look up motley's phone number, obliviously dumped the phone into my right pocket so I could grab my cell and look up his number. I do this quite a bit. [info]coolhipfrank witnessed me frantically looking for my house keys before just saying I could use the spare he has until I find my own. I told him I would definitely find them in some ridiculous place. Sure enough while waiting at the bus stop, I reached into my right pocket to get my bus pass out. There they were. I had no words. I just showed them to Frank with a look on my face like "Can you believe this mess?" From now on, whenever you ask where I find something, [info]bigmiah, the response may be.. my right pocket.

It was still an interesting weekend. I went to a friend's 35th birthday Saturday night with a bottle of Skyy Raspberry. I'm not sure how much of the bottle I consumed since I just left it at Brian's but I can tell you I was in bed until 1:45 pm on Sunday afternoon. Earlier at 7 am, my head was still buzzing. Will have pictures from the party very soon.

I went to over to Ricky and [info]bigmiah's place for a Big Men's Club birthday / planning meeting. I only wish I could've stayed longer but, I had a train back to Dallas county to catch. Though it was tempting to ask someone one from Dallas for a ride back home, all 3 Dallasites were first timers so they don't know me Like THAT just yet.

[info]joshualore loaned me an R4 card for my nintendo DS with some games on it. I've been trying out the Rayman games which are OK. I think I just need to get used to the controls. Also, there may be some issues with the R4 card. We'll just have to wait and see. As I said before, what good has R4 ever been? What you need is an R2 unit. *geek smile*

Frank came over last night and saw my DS charging. I ran down the battery a bit going on tour with Lego Rock Band. Without any influence from me, he picks up the DS and asks about the new fancy card in it. Next thing I know, he's searching through games and it seems he could not put down the crossword puzzle game. I told him when I order a better interface card for myself, I can get set him up with one. He can use it in my DS, or someone else's, and then decide if he wants to his own console in a color that suits him better. The crossword game has 3 profiles on it now. Piggy, Frank and Secotary Owning that title - for now.

I'm at work right now earning my Holiday pay. Thank you, Martin Luther King Jr!! I'm putting in for some time off already. I'll spend a couple of Fridays either at home or just Elsewhere. Have advised Jerry he can do the same. I may hollar at my sistah Herrera too.

I stayed in a lot this weekend and finally got a chance to compile a review for 2009. This is longer than my review for 2008. I think it's because of the Battlestar Galactica videos that Jerry and I did for the 2nd half of season four. There are also 2 videos of the Proud Mary performances at S4. Also, THIS IS NWSF Not work safe, people, due to some topless chubs 1/2 naked or in [info]plano_cutie's case about 7/8 naked. Other highlights are [info]worldwidefiddy's Black Jesus and my impromptu Halloween Pink video.

Thanks Sarah, Dad, Mike, Kanna and family for getting me a DS. [info]joshualore is excited now and [info]enigmacub has a DS now too. I'm wondering now is Bruce ever gets creative with the pictochat feature. My skills are slowly getting better at Super Mario Bros. but I still spend most of my time with the minigames. That is what happened with my Sims 2 games on the GBA too.

Me any my DS

Check me out plotting my next card move against Luigi. He's about to get Served!! I am such a secretary with that stylus too. DFWBMC should be proud.

Starting off a 4 day weekend after getting smashed at the Tin Room last night. How much money did I spend?? Oooohh But I have leftover Sesame Chicken. Fantastic. While enjoying that I'll share some youtube stuff for y'all. The video quality is crap... particularly on the 1st one. I do like what they with opening credits for TNG around 4:50 and then at 5:03 and I kinda saw 5:56 coming. 7:30 on out is pretty good. The 2nd clip is a little better, especially when Marina Sirtis (Troi) curses. Enjoy peops and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Didn't like it? Oh well, this is better... with better production value.

Playing Super Mario Bros for Nintendo DS here. The game is cool, I just have to get used to the controls a little. I'm having fun with the minigames too. Love kicking Luigi's butt at Poker. What has me puzzled is how in the main game, Mario says "That'sa so Nice!!" after completing a level. Isn't that exploitation of Italians or something???

Jerry texted me with that "joke" about why Mexicans make tamales at Christmas. It's an old joke so you probably already know the punchline. I'd punch Jerry if I was the fighting type but I'm not. So, I just told him to dance a jig since he's Irish or something...

Jerry:: Don't be so touchy on Christmas

Danny:: We take our tamales very seriously

Jerry:: Tequila or tamales, choose
well, not you but in general

Mexicanos, the question has been asked.. )

So far, the tamales have it 4 - 2. Anyone else want to vote???

I was a little shocked when I overheard a co-worker talking about Steven Tyler going into rehab for addiction What???!!! OK So it's prescription painkillers and he's doing his best to manage pain brought about injuries suffered from age 51 to 61. I guess this is what Rock N' Roll does to you. That picture on CNN, though. Why is it that bad news always requires a bad picture?? Don't worry. It sounds like he's got the right mindset and some good support.

Speaking of addiction in the music biz, Amy Winehouse allegedly can't stay out of trouble. The keyword being allegedly here, of course. It is amusing though picturing her not acting right in the audience.

And lastly, Perez Hilton says Epic Fail to Avatar [info]coolhipfrank, better come get your cousin before he gets cut!! Maybe it's just Mr King of the World James Cameron's mad spending. I seem to recall that another 3 hour Cameron epic called Titanic that, after having all kinds of delays and production problems, took several weeks before it finally was able to turn a profit.

I got invited to go see Avatar at the IMAX in 3-D. Once I got over the first hour or so of uncomfortable nausea, I was able to really enjoy the experience. Why? Where to start? Sigourney Weaver, beautiful forest environment, great story. What else can I say but Just Go if you haven't already?

If you're a music type enjoy singling out which movies James Horner borrows from. There are at least 2 movies that he also scored the music for that he throws in a few noticable motifs from. Also, the line "I see you." is used quite a bit. Every time someone said it I was just reminded of the Joy Luck Club. I have Jerry and Tien to thank for that.

Mike has turned to our grandmother for instruction on making Spanish Rice. He later passed the gift on to me. I've done it a few times. It's a good dish to know. Spanish rice doesn't even compare to the undertaking Michael is engaging in now. Our grandmother's tamales are the stuff legends are made from. She has quit making them but now Michael is attempting to carry on the legacy.

I don't think I'll hit him up for this family recipe though. I'll stick to lasagna.
